View Full Version : Halo B on 4 AA battery harness from radioshack?

My old 6 AA harness started melting after some fluke short that caused all the batteries to output (the current top theory is I had some residual RPS premium fill on my hands despite washing em). I've been running my Halo B successfully on a 4 AA battery harness from radioshack ($2). So far so good on 3 outings (disconnect battery between each outing of course), with only the last outing experiencing a problem. I chopped once on my eye-less bushy shooting ~12.5 bps full auto. Turned down the ROF to what probably amounts to 10 bps full auto and worked fine the rest of the day. So I clearly see that running on 4 AA means i'll have to change batteries more often, which is not a problem given how cheap AA are when bought in bulk at Costco. Can a tech confirm that it is ok to run the Halo B (eyes not ears) on 4 AA? Of course I am buffering the smaller harness with some packaging foam to keep it from bouncing around. Thanks.

You're going to have a voltage issue. 4x1.5 = 6v versus 6x1.5 = 9v But there's no mechanical reason it wont "work" Its just not going to feed as fast or for as long.

ok. Its a pretty sweet setup, I think I can notice the weigh savings especially given where the batteries are located on the haloB in comparision to other loaders. I know that the setup with fresh batteries will feed reliably at at least 12 bps full auto on an eye-less bushy for at least one case of paint. The one chop i did experience was past 3 k paintballs and may not have been a loader problem. The chop occurred when I was surprised by a guy that just poked up on the other side of my dirt mound and I very violently and haphazardly swung my marker around to tag him. loader was likely completely sideways. Again $2 at radioshack =D
