The intention of this gun is quite different to other products on the market place and is aimed at a different product niche than the higher end magazine pistols which are very cool to handle and look at, but often don't make for easy use in play.

This pistol is at a lower price point, and at that price point offers a lot of functionality that makes it a more usable pistol when playing than anything else on the market.

You can quick change 12g's in seconds, and the seal system is designed to work with any of the very varied 12g manufacturers. It's a system similar to the old slam changers with a moving seal face to adjust to different 12g's.

You can run it with 10 round tubes, a spring fed tube system, or a hopper elbow with clamping feedneck. You can change from one system to the other in seconds. You can reload from a 10 round tube with ease and very quickly.

It has a 45 grip frame (will take wrap arounds and 45 panels) so it's comfortable in the hands of more players. It's a MUCH smaller grip frame than many other pistols on the market. Many players find the larger grips of the magazine fed pistols difficult to handle and use.

You can swap out barrel inserts in seconds so you can fit the paint you are shooting to get the best efficiency out of a 12g.

It uses BT ball detents.

The breech tip is cocker threaded so we will have a range of accessories that you can just screw on the front. A mock silencer etc. If you want and have a BIG bore cocker barrel you could even screw that onto it. We've done this to make rifle like versions based off the pistol.

It WILL shoot first strike rounds. The breech is designed to accept them and we may be making a First Strike magazine for it depending on demand. Right now it's great because you can slide the hopper port out of the way, load a first strike. So your first shot is a first strike but you can quickly follow it up with normal paintballs if you want by sliding the feed port back.

You can turn it into a rifle with the addition of a dummy 12g and bottom line kit.

It has rear slide cocking. With the change of a poppet stem you can actually make this "pump action"... you simply run the slide back for each shot.

By taking the spring out of the feed tube, it could be "stock class".

You can strip the internals out and clean it without needing any tools whatsoever. It only takes seconds to do so.

And all of that for under $130...

I'm looking forward to trying one of these out. At this price point, they should sell like crazy!

What sort of setup are the barrel inserts, something like the Revolver? Those inserts are just about pistol sized if I remember right.

The inserts are simple straight tubes with lead in chamfers. Means anyone should be able to make them, and if you want to make a custom bore size it would be cheap and easy with any lathe...

I will admit I handled one of these last september, it was very interesting, I loved the co2 loading system and the barrel was extremily unique, very good design went into this pistol

Any information regarding the release date simon? Very curious about these pistols. I have a T8 at the moment, as well as much use with the 8.1's, and they just don't do it for me. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of these. The 8's and 8.1's just don't feel right to me, and I am hoping this will be what I am looking for. So far, it is looking excellent.

The plan is to give a lot of cool features and then let people do what they want with it. We'll also be providing a bunch of accessories to the dealers.

I suspect we will see them configured in all sorts of ways. Set up as First Strike Sniper rifles, etc.

Release date is Oklahoma D-Day or earlier.

I have just made a bunch of videos about all the new BT stuff. As the product releases I will be posting them up. Until then if you want to know anything, then ask in the Insider forum and I will help you as much as possible.

Good luck with the soon to be new addition. :)

My favorite thing about this marker is the 10 round tubes! It's almost like paintball is on it's way back to the good o'le days!

Hell yeah. And our OEM 10 round tubes will be bad ass with the smoke colour and thumb flip lids. Now I need to get soft goods working on some holders for tubes and 12g's that fit to our molle system etc.

I also want us to make a high quality guantlet for them.

I have a great video of the SA-17 done. I just need to get it sorted out, edited a little, and up.

How about integrating it into a solid set of elbow/forearm pads!

Simon, Just checking up on the possibility of a First Strike Magazine. You mentioned that one might be made if there was enough demand. I assure you there is demand but maybe not sales right now. I know the pistol has not been all that popular and gotten some grief but I assure you that if you guys make a FS mag it WILL drive sales, BIG TIME!

I've talked to a lot of friends and none, not one of them knew that the SA-17 accepted FS rounds and while I know their may be legal issues with Kee not owning the FS brand, the word has got to get out there somehow. I assure you, if you build it they will come :) However, I'm just a little concerned if you are sitting back waiting for sales of the pistol to get to a certain point, it may be a big wait.

I definitely agree, we're currently discussing this over at BT:WO, I bought my SA-17 because of two reasons: 1) it's a damn good pistol and 2) because it has FS capability, and can be made into the ultimate sniper gun with a few small add ons (longer barrel, stock, FS magazine, scope) a FS magazine would allow the SA-17 to become a true sniper weapon, that would soon dominate the field. at the moment it's hard to dominate when you need to manually load each FS shot, and when being rushed or suppressed it's harder to accurately load them and fire a shot back before you're out. with a magazine, you could take out a group of players before they even got close to you or heard the shots. if you market this to the players who constantly are looking for any modification or add on that adds range and accuracy to their gun, then the SA-17 would fly off the shelves. and then a true paintball sniper could exist.

there's only 2 modifications to the SA-17 I would like to see, first being the FS magazine and second being a body kit that would allow it to become a sniper rifle, or one that adds more rails. bc currently the rails are kinda useless with the 10 round tube and the short under piece.
