SHARING THE MODELS HAS BEEN APPROVED BY MIKE CASADY.
This was an issue for MCB, so I'm nipping it in the bud on these boards.
Thanks to Simon for hosting these!

These were all created by myself. I grant permission for you to do whatever you wish with them, as long as it's cool.
To download, it is suggested to use DownThemAll! (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201) for Firefox with the filter ".sld"

Awesome. Thanks for posting it up and thanks to Mike Casady too. (How is Casady spelt for sure? I have seen a couple of different versions?)
I am intending to put a CAD folder on the website. Do you want me to put the file in there, or do you plan to host it somewhere else?

Well, I don't believe I have the resources to host this stuff. If you can host it, just let me know how you want me to send it to you.
Honestly not sure about the name. I've never really questioned it.

How big is the file when zipped? Can you e-mail it to me?

A little over 27MB split between two files. I can email it whenever. My email is screenname@gmail.com

Hey, Simon. I haven't gotten an email from you yet. Just wanted to make sure you didn't click on the link, up there, as the actual address is my name on here at gmail.com

I got the files. I am just slammed at the moment so haven't had chance to look at them or open them up.
Crazy busy, and then we have some insane weather and had a power black out yesterday too... I am behind in everything right now. :(

Unacceptable! No excuses, get 'r done. :p I don't think anyone is loosing money over this little thing, no sense in rushing. Good luck catching up, godspeed.

So those files are SW 2010? I couldn't open them and I suspect that is why... I have them uploaded, now I just need to make some links.
This makes me ponder file formats. We might want to consider parasolid and iges copies of all files so it's easier for people with different systems to pick up the files and use them.

Actually, those should still be from SW2008, unless I opened them and saved them with SW2009 at some point. It's the educational version, which I've heard is supposed to prevent retail licensed versions from opening, but I've never witnessed it work. I've used both all of the time without issue.
It'll be some time before I'll be able to save them all in a different format. Let me know if you make any progress.

Awesome! It's nice to finally have these files hosted so that people can use them! Thanks guys
EDIT: Any chance that someone can validate that the files are openable in solidworks? I've tested it on three of my computers, but they are just different versions of solidworks educational editions.

They all seem to open and import into an assembly properly using SolidWorks 2009 Premium X64 edition.
The DownThemAll plugin for Firefox makes very fast work of downloading these by the way. Just add a filter for .sld and it will save them all at once.

Hi Simon, it seems to work fine on 2009 premium 32 bit also.

Sweet. Thanks to everyone for help in getting this creating the original files, doing all the links, and then verifying the files. This is JUST the kind of thing that adds value to a community like this.
Awesome! :D
p.s. The files and that render look great!
I'm trying to pull some dimensions off the trigger group model... but the Solidworks E-drawings viewer is not allowing this... :(

Sorry Fred, but I've dumped enough time into those models already to sit there and reformat each of them (which takes a bit of time with my setup). I suggest you find a tool that can convert them efficiently, and if you find one that requires solidworks let me know and I'll use it.

It may be the solidworks E-drawings viewer having a problem, I ran into the same issue with a solidworks CAD files for a 1911 frame recently. The E-drawings viewer loaded the file, would show the dimension lines I would create, but refused to list a dimension - even though it is supposed to.
Mine just has everything in the measure tab greyed out.
I think I've gotten the dimensions I need by eyeballing the gargoyle trigger group I just got... working on an undercocking pump handle kit for myself since nobody makes anything beefy anymore.
