I've always found paintball goggles to be better than many other goggles on the market.

For years I have skied and snowboarded in paintball goggles. This is from the 2000 Milennium New Years Day!

Well after a bad experience with some Oakley ATV goggles fogging that almost resulted in me losing and eye (and maybe my life!) (http://www.simonized.com/entry.php?3-Stupid-hurts) I decided to use the goggles that I designed and knew to better and to get them to work in conjunction with my ATV Helmet.

Here's the way I modified them and the results. Please note doing this will definitely void your warranty and I do not guarantee any safety with the resultant modified goggles.

First I trimmed off the faceplate as close to the bottom of the lenses as I easily could.

I trimmed them around the back of the visor slot just in case I used them without the ATV mask when I snowboard or something and still want to use a visor.

I trimmed them close over the nose to clean inside my helmet.

Next I trimmed the top forehead section as I needed a little more clearance to fit inside the helmet and get the goggles to sit comfortably.

First I marked them up...

Then I trimmed it out. I did this to both sides.

Next I had to cut down the retainers, as now they will be placed inside and stick out in order to make the strap pull from wider and fit around the mask more easily.

Here's how the retainers go inside and come out. Note the right handside "R" retainer is now used on the left of the goggle.

Strap attached as normal (left hand part on left side)

Here's how they fit inside my helmet

A great result. Now to go play in the snow!!! :D

Thanks a lot, now I feel the need to go butcher an old set of paintball goggles to make new shop goggles, the ones I have (left over from college labs) don't fit my glasses well at all. Just when it looked like I might have a relaxing night.
:D
Hopefully it will work well with an old set of x-fires.

They worked fantastically out in the sleet/snow as I plowed my drive and the roads for my development to be able to make it out to the main road. I am really pleased with them. Miles better than my old Oakleys, safer, and didn't fog up once, in horrendous conditions!

I know at one point we were selling off the old Cylus goggles for stupid cheap. You could easily do it out of a Helix too! Cheap but awesome goggles would be the result.

I have yet to have a problem with my A-frames. But none the less, awesome looking.
