Well this is interesting, I am half way through the 5 hour flight home and I am sat browsing the internet.
I like it, but I guess it's another way to keep people working. Not necessarily a bad thing as I have a LOT of work to do right now and a lot going on. I'm just finishing up on a tough stint of travelling and looking forward to being home for a while.
It's been some great trips though.
The dealer days in the USA, Canada, and the UK have been a huge success.
PSP Phx was a great start to the season followed by Huntington Beach which is always a good event and one of my favourites.
Congratulations to Dynasty for winning that one, just narrowly over Impact. I'm pleased for the Dynasty team, as they've really put in the work.
I can't help but have HUGE respect for what the team from Edmonton Impact have achieved and what they almost managed at HB. They came so close to winning both opening events for the two leagues and that would have been impressive! Hell, they were impressive anyway. Bart, Josh and the team have done something special and I expect them to be a dominant force in both leagues all season!
And that's saying something, because the two events showed that X-Ball and NPPL really are worlds apart and only some teams were showing strong abilities in both.
Infamous are really getting it together. I expect to see a lot more good results from them this year, in both leagues. Entourage fresh from a win in Semi Pro at the PHX event were a force to be reckoned with in HB. They made it through, and looked good doing it!
It was interesting to see how Damage (who honestly looked phenomenal at the PSP event) struggled in the NPPL. I suspect if they put as much effort into the 7Man format as they do X-Ball they will be just as impressive in the NPPL, it's not a given though.
Personally I like both formats, and I definitely want to see the NPPL succeed because for me it offers a game more accessible to a greater range of players and I think that is important.
And last but not least, the guys playing pump at HB. They all looked to be having a great time. It was a pleasure talking to those players that I did. I wish I'd had time to do more. As the new Sportshot releases in a week or so, and the pump players get ready for the Chicago event, I'm excited about the growth of pump play and how it can help paintball. I'm also excited about trying to do more to help that too.
Oh, and I picked up my STUNNING T2 pump gun this weekend from CCM. I can't wait to show it off. That will have to wait until I am home and have unpacked though as they don't let me bring things like that on as hand luggage for some reason...![]()
